Moving away from large-scale art installations today to highlight the beautiful work of artist Garip Ay who paints using a Turkish paper marbling technique called Ebru. To begin Ay firstly adds tragacanth gum to water which helps increase its viscosity and prevents it from mixing with the paint. To keep the pigments afloat, and control, or enhance, their ability to spread across the water's surface, a special solution is mixed in with each colour.
