New Westminster’s coach Ernie “Punch” McLean ensured players on his club were tough, highlighted by having all-time characters like Boris Fistric and Andy Ristau suit up for the Bruins over the years with him at the helm - and even when players who could more than take care of themselves, like the rugged John-Paul Kelly, found themselves in a scenario where he felt he could help, he’d get in to it as quick as any other player, including as seen here, jumping out on the ice to back up his squad.
